Receive

Receive Books

Book Fairies believes that all children should have books in their homes, schools, and communities. We work to increase access to books by upcycling gently used books, and distributing them to schools, nonprofit organizations and social service agencies serving the Long Island and New York City areas.

Do You Qualify To Receive Books?

To receive books from Book Fairies, schools and organizations must support under-resourced areas across Long Island and New York City. Schools must have Title I status or have at least 50% of their student body eligible to receive free/reduced lunch.

How To Check Title I Status For Schools
Go to: https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/
Type in your school’s name, then look under the School Detail Section.
Qualifying schools will have the section Title I School-Wide Program marked as “Yes”.

If you qualify, fill out our Book Recipient Signup form to get on our email list to receive books. If you are not sure, reach out to our Program Director, Sherry McGrath.
