Monique Y. Murphy is an accomplished business professional with over 10 years experience in diversity and inclusion and risk and internal controls. She is currently Corporate Vice President in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at New York Life. Her responsibilities include setting strategy and executing on D&I initiatives supporting the retention and advancement of diverse employees, including oversight of employee resource groups, professional development programs, partnering with external diversity organizations, reporting and analytics, and speaking on D&I topics at conferences and internal and external events.Monique is a native of Wyandanch, NY, where she graduated salutatorian of her high school class. On a mission to break the cycle of financial struggle in her family, Monique pursued a B.S in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business and became the first in her family to graduate from college. Monique possesses a deep passion for socio-economic empowerment for women and underserved youth. She has volunteered as a mentor to high school students through Deloitte Academy, College Summit, and Women of Integrity’s Resolutions Mentorship Program. Monique is a member of the National Diversity Council, National Association of Black Accountants, Financial Women’s Association, and Women of Integrity, an organization that empowers women and girls. She and her husband, Dana, live on Long Island, New York with their 3-year old son.
